Κonstantinou Nikolaos

Studios-Labs Teaching Staff

Dr. Nikos Konstantinou  is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff in the field of three-dimensional representations. He is a computer engineer and previously worked as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in the private sector in the design and installation of network systems.

He has taught computer science at the secondary education for many years. He is a member of the register of IT teacher trainers and has been a trainer in many teacher training programmes.

He received his Master’s degree in Virtual Communities from Panteion University on “Comparison and evaluation of 3D virtual worlds as distance education systems”.

He received his PhD in the fields of virtual worlds, gamification and game-based learning.

He was an assistant professor at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at Ionian University. He has taught electronic prototyping platforms for Installation Art, web technologies and creative technologies in education.

His research interests range from Graphic Design, Extended Reality, 3D animation to Game-Based Learning and Gamification.

He has published several articles in international journals and conferences on the use of 3D virtual environments in the learning process, serious games as an educational tool, teaching programming through digital games, etc.
