Stavrou Christos
Dr. Christos Stavrou received his PhD in history of cinema and film subtitling from Ionian University. He has a Master’s degree in Theory and Didactics of Translation and Interpreting (Ionian University) and a second Master’s degree in Cultural Studies (Université Paris Nanterre). He graduated from the Department of English Language and Literature (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and the Department of French Language and Literature (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and he has also pursued undergraduate studies in Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales in Paris. He has worked as Adjunct Lecturer at the Technological and Educational Institute of Epirus and at the University of Ioannina and he has participated in Academic Mobility European Programs. He is member of Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association (MeCCSA) and of the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation (ESIST) and he is Editorial Assistant at The Journal of Audiovisual Translation (JAT). He is the co-editor of the volume AVT as a Bridge for Communication: From Language Learning to Accessibility. Furthermore, he has participated at conferences and symposia in Greece and abroad. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in anthologies. His research interests include: Cultural Studies, Visual Culture, Cultural Accessibility, Accessibility and Activism, Inclusive Arts.
